Furniture Movers NYC

Moving one sofa up five flights. Grabbing a purchase from the store. Shifting a whole room across town. In New York, furniture always comes down to the same things: the stairs, the doorways, and the turns that look impossible on paper. Our crews wrap it, take it apart when they have to, and get it in without leaving a mark.

Moving furniture in NYC, one piece or a whole room

Furniture is the physical part of any New York move. The sleeper sofa gets stuck on a fourth-floor landing. The marble table weighs more than it looks. Beds hardly ever fit through a doorway in one piece, so they come apart. And that couch you bought from a seller across town still has to get loaded, driven, and carried up somehow. We’ve done all of it since 2013. Some days it’s one chair. Some days it’s a whole apartment. What keeps a job clean instead of leaving a gouge in the doorframe is pretty simple: look at the tight spots before you lift, take down anything that won’t fit, and wrap it well.

What every furniture move includes

You get a crew sized to the piece or the room, with blankets and the moving gear already in the price. Anything that won’t clear the doorway or the stairwell comes apart first. Every surface gets wrapped before it’s lifted, and it all goes back together in place once it’s inside.

  • Single items, store pickups, and whole-room furniture moves
  • Furniture disassembly and reassembly for beds, tables, and wall units
  • Stairs, tight doorways, and narrow turns measured and planned
  • Blanket and stretch-wrap protection on every surface and corner
  • Store, showroom, and marketplace pickups with a truck and crew

How your furniture move works

We plan the tight spots and the disassembly first, because that’s what makes or breaks a furniture move. Four steps, no scratches.

Why New Yorkers call us for furniture

A furniture move fails on the tight spots, the fourth-floor turn, the doorway an inch too narrow, the piece nobody thought to take apart. The crews that get it in are the ones that plan for exactly that.

The tight spots, handled

Our movers are on staff, W-2, not day labor pulled off an app, and they wrestle New York furniture every single day. A sofa that has to go up on its end to clear the stairwell. A bed that only fits through the door in three pieces. A marble top nobody should lift alone. They’ve seen it. So the tight spots get measured before the truck even shows up. Whatever won’t fit gets taken apart and rebuilt at the far end. Everything gets padded, because a scratched piece isn’t a move, it’s just damage with a delivery fee. One chair or a full apartment, that’s how we’ve kept furniture jobs clean since 2013.

  • Upfront pricing. Hourly or flat, agreed before we start, with the stairs and any disassembly counted so there’s no surprise at the curb.
  • Disassembly included. Beds, tables, and wall units come apart to clear the doorway or stairwell and get rebuilt in place, at no extra guesswork.
  • Tight spots planned. Narrow stairwells, tight doorways, and sharp turns are measured ahead so the piece actually goes in.
  • Every surface protected. Blankets and stretch-wrap on every corner and face, so furniture arrives the way it left.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you move a single piece of furniture?
Yes, that's a big part of what we do. Could be one couch, a bed, a dresser, whatever it is. We bring a crew and a truck that fit the job, not a giant rig you're paying for by the hour. And if the piece won't make it through the door, we take it apart and put it back once it's inside.
Do you pick up furniture from a store or marketplace seller?
Yes. We go to the pickup spot, whether that's a showroom, a warehouse, or someone's apartment across town. We load it, wrap it, drive it over, and set it where you want it. If it has to come apart to get in the door, we handle that part too.
Can you get furniture up a tight NYC staircase?
Most of the time, yes. Tight stairs and narrow doors are just the job here. We look at the pinch points first, take apart what needs it, and turn or stand pieces up to make the corners. It all stays wrapped, so nothing gets scraped on the way up.
Do you disassemble and reassemble the furniture?
Yes, and it's part of the price, not an add-on. Beds, tables, big wall units, anything that won't clear the door or the stairs, gets broken down, moved, and built back where it belongs. It stays padded the whole time.
How much does furniture moving cost in NYC?
Depends on the piece or the room, how many floors, and how far it's going. You get the number upfront, hourly or flat, with blankets and any takedown already in it. A deposit holds your date, and nothing gets tacked on later.
